Thomas Joel Price of Bell Buckle, Tennessee, passed from this life on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Vanderbilt Wilson in Lebanon, Tennessee at the age of 88 years. He was born on December 27, 1936, to the late Buford and Pauline Price. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Hughleen Smith Price, granddaughter, Jenny Price Mason, daughter-in-law, Lisa Price and brother, Gerald Price. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lynchburg Cemetery. Visitation with the family will also be on Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Mr. Price was a dedicated member of Grundy Street Church of Christ; strongly committed in faith and study. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He retired from the Missile and Space Intelligence Center after 25 years of service as an engineer; where he traveled to many countries from Australia, England, Germany, Africa, Egypt, Greece, Korea and Japan. Mr. Price received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, TN. He also received a master’s degree from the University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH) in Huntsville, AL. Mr. Price went on to receive a second master’s degree and a Doctorate from Nova University in Florida. He began announcing Moore County Football games in 1965 and served as Voice of Moore County Football for over 25 years. Survivors include his wife of 20 years: MaryAnn Armstrong Price, 3 Children: Doug Price (Carmen), Mark Price, Barry Price (Suzanne), 5 Grandchildren: Heather Price, Cole Price (Hanna), Katie Price, Payton Price, and Allie Hamblen (Jackson), 4 Great Grandchildren: Olivia Mason, Noah Mason, Valerie Price, and Carly Kate Robinson, 4 Stepchildren: Donna Clanton, Lisa Armstrong (Greg Grove), David Armstrong (Leilah); Scott Armstrong (Rebekah), 5 Step Grandchildren: Ryan Webb, Kristan Falkum, Kelby Sanders, Nathan Armstrong, Kelly Owens, 4 Step Great Grandchildren: Landon, Eli, Joseph and Holden, 1 Brother: Henry Price and numerous nieces and nephews.
